Confusions - Alan Ayckbourn
May 2017
Confusions is Ayckbourn observation at its finest. The five-acts took us through a series of somewhat dysfunctional situations: from the loneliness of a mother unable to escape from baby talk, to a painfully unsuccessful seduction attempt; a fate-fraught dinner encounter, to a thunderously disastrous Fête overflowing with tea. Finally, we step into a tranquil park scene where five souls vie for each other’s attention – failed only by their own inability to listen. It was our first Black Box Theatre production and with a cast 13-strong, we had a busy three months getting everything ready.
